The Bear Lake Volunteer Firefighters Association is dedicated to supporting our volunteer firefighters and enhancing emergency response capabilities for our rural community.
The Bear Lake Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1974 and has proudly served the Bear Lake area north of Prince George for over 50 years despite many changes and challenges throughout the years. Based at 353 Grizzly Avenue, Bear Lake, BC, our department operates as part of the local fire protection service administered through the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George, with support from the Bear Lake Community Commission. The Bear Lake Volunteer Firefighters Association is made up of the department’s responding and support members. Together, we work to support projects and initiatives that strengthen our fire department, especially where regular operating budgets may not be able to cover the full need. Funds raised, equipment purchased, and proceeds from our projects are donated back to the Fire Department, becoming permanent assets that help improve emergency response, firefighter safety, training, and service to the community.
